Time Warner Cable SportsNet will televise the 3-hour memorial service for Los Angeles Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss on Thursday afternoon.
The Lakers will hold a memorial service to celebrate the life of longtime owner Jerry Buss at the Nokia Theater beginning at 3 p.m. Dr. Buss passed away at the age of 80 on Monday following an 18-month battle with cancer. He will be honored before the Lakers host the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.
Time Warner Cable SportsNet can be found on channel 403 in HD or channel 28 in standard definition on Time Warner Cable. Time Warner Cable Deportes also will broadcast the service on channels 481 (HD) or channel 35 (standard).
The networks’ coverage will continue after the service with reflections and memories of Dr. Buss from service attendees.
On Time Warner Cable SportsNet, Chris McGee will host the telecast from the Time Warner Cable Sports studios. He will be joined by Lakers play-by-play announcer Bill Macdonald live from the Nokia Theater.
Studio anchor Ricardo Celis will host the telecast on Time Warner Cable Deportes and Lakers play-by-play announcer Adrian Garcia Marquez and analyst Francisco Pinto will be live at Nokia Theater. Time Warner Cable Deportes’ coverage will include simultaneous Spanish translation.
The service will re-air in its entirety on both networks on Thursday and Friday.
