ESPN to begin British Open coverage 30 minutes early

ESPN has announced its broadcast of the British Open will start 30 minutes earlier than previously announced for Thursday and Friday.

Coverage of the first and second rounds will now begin at 1:30 a.m. (Pacific Time) on Thursday and Friday. The change was made so viewers can see the complete rounds of Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.

Woods tees off at 1:42 a.m. Thursday while Mickelson starts his round at 1:31 a.m. Friday.

ESPN has live, four-round coverage of golf’s oldest major from Royal Lytham & St Annes in Lancashire, England through Sunday.
