The Major League Baseball season gets under way in the early-morning hours Wednesday (3 a.m. California time) when the Seattle Mariners face the Oakland Athletics in the first of a two-game series in Tokyo, Japan.
Baseball fans looking to catch the first two games of the season will have to wait a few hours, as neither Wednesday’s or Thursday’s games will air live.
MLB Network is planning to air both games from Japan on a tape-delayed basis. The first game will be broadcast on MLB Network at 6 a.m. It will re-air at 7 p.m.
Thursday’s second game of the series also will be delayed, with broadcast times of 6 a.m. and then 7 p.m.
